To fully understand is to fully appreciate and even at that, mysteries can also be extremely appreciated. 

ONDO is one of those mysteries that wraps her suitors in the web of love, wonder and fascination. You can barely understand the intricacies of her delectable design; the art, the music, the food and the tourism. These elements perfectly shapes the beauty that you all know to be ONDO state; The Sunshine State. 

ONDO is one of the hallmarks of undiluted Yoruba culture, with a range of different dialects. The Ondo city, the state’s heritage is uniquely designed and blessed with divine structures and with people of great confidence in their art and creative prowess. There is a mysterious source of energy that fuels ondo and it’s people. Some say it is the Sun that is always flamboyantly shining at its peak and others say it is in the fact that gods roam among the people.

Ondo takes pride in her centers of tourism and who are you to talk about tourism without mentioning the famous Idanre hills where your eyes will thank you for blessing it with one of the most beautiful views there is. Residing at three thousand feet above sea level, with an excellent landscape, several myths and ofcourse legends and folklores. The Agboogun’s footprint is one of such legend, as it fits any foot size except you are a witch or wizard. 

To bask in nature’s delight is to take a visit to the Araromi beach at Ilaje. The tides shall sweep away your worries and your mind shall glide in the peace that the beach provides. Water is life, as we all hold it just as it holds us, A visit to Igbokoda Waterfront gives you a wonderful scenery of a peaceful water body that serves many functions ranging from boating, fishing, picnic, diving and much more.

Do not forget that ONDO is a home for integral arts; and you have to revere the Owo Museum of Antiques when you make reference to art in ONDO. The beautiful works of wood, ivory, brass and iron will leave your mind suspended but wanting more from Ondo and that is where Igbo Eledumare comes in; located at Oke Igbo near Ile oluji. It is translated to mean the forest of the Almighty as it has a very mythical nature and is known for so many folklores and legends. One can have a taste of prehistoric times and adventures in this mass of vegetation. 

AKURE the heartbeat and the state’s capital is a dynamic but peaceful settlement. 

The people, the traffic, the heat that boils at day, the night and it’s calmness. The wonderful synergy of art, culture, and civilization. The traders and their trades, the farmers and their products and of course their historical centre which is the Deji of Akure’s palace; a formidable building and an epitome of fine architecture; the traditional home of the town’s ruler; here you find the cultural heritage that perfectly explains the people’s story and for this reason we can not leave out another home of phenomenal heritage; The Olowo’s palace in Owo which is the largest in Yoruba land.

The Ebomi lake tourist center very close to Akure at Ipesi is a place to appreciate the enormous manifestation of nature. Also known as the bottomless lake, the lake provides succor for the great people of Ipesi.
